In 2014 Geotech completed a program at the Eric Nielsen International Airport in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. The program consisted of 120 boreholes at angles ranging from 30 to 90 degrees from horizontal, to complete injection and recovery processes for a remediation system.
A Fraste Mito track mounted drill was utilized in this program in order to drill the required angle capacity of 5 meter boreholes.
CHALLENGES
- Completed during the winter season, the crews were challenged with subzero temperatures, facing harsh winter conditions on a daily basis while still producing 2-3 boreholes per shift
