Key Responsibilities
- Assist in disassembling and reassembling components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems.
- Assist in inspecting and testing to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high-pressure water pumps.
- Assist in diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
- Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Service attachments and working tools.
- Verify and repair emission control systems.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- 3 + years of experience with heavy industrial equipment, including hydraulic equipment, diesel engines and compressors, high-pressure water pumps, drill units, diesel trucks, crawlers, and pumps
- Ability to diligently organize work, make decisions and set priorities
- Valid driver’s licence
- Previous experience working on drilling equipment is an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold Journeyman ticket or be registered 3rd or 4th year Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice
Compensation
$24.00/hr up to $36.00/hr based on experience.
$40.00/hr – $41.00/hr if classified as a Journeyman Red Seal Mechanic.
