Journeyman/Apprentice Automotive Mechanic

    Our team is currently looking for an Apprentice or Journeyman Automotive Mechanic for our Prince George shop.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles.
    • Test all systems or components ensuring they are secure and working properly.
    • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems
    • Watch or inspect parts such as: hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other possible troublesome items.
    • Use power tools, common hand tools and Acetylene torch and welders.
    • Demonstrate and champion a healthy and safe work environment.
    • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.

    Hot-Shot Driver

    • Prince George, BC

      Geotech Drilling is currently seeking casual hot shot drivers. The successful candidate will be on call to deliver supplies to various locations around Western Canada. Company truck provided. This role can vary from 0 – 40 hours a week, with the flexibility to decline trips if it conflicts with your schedule. Opportunity to move into other positions within the company. Excellent opportunity for candidates seeking additional income while maintaining employment elsewhere.

      • Minimum of a Class 5 Licence required (Class 3 Licence preferred)
      • Heavy Trailer endorsement preferred
      • Confidence in loading and securing equipment and supplies of varying sizes for transport
      • Experience off the highway and on logging roads is considered an asset
      • Experience in challenging weather conditions, including winter driving
      • Ability to troubleshoot and rectify issues as they arise.

      Exploration Drillers

      • Based on Experience, Earn up to $800 per day with base pay, bonuses and other incentives!

        Geotech is currently looking for Exploration Drillers to join our long term projects in British Columbia and Nunavut. Equipment is composed of both surface and underground Zinex A5/U5 and Hydracore 2000 drills.

        Key Responsibilities

        • Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators as well as observe the volume, colour and consistency of the returns from the hole.
        • Employ various sampling techniques according to project and client requirements.
        • Record keeping as required/requested by the client and or Company.
        • Operate and troubleshoot drill and ancillary equipment, including, but not limited to; trucks, support vehicles, pumps, heaters, compressors, mud re-circulation systems, etc.
        • Supervise Drill Assistant and the drill crew to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
        • Ensure Driller Assistant maintains and organizes equipment, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.

        Professional Experience / Qualifications

        • Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 or 7 Driver’s License.
        • Have 2-5 years experience in exploration drilling.
        • Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
        • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.

        Exploration Drill Assistants

        • $22/hr + day and meter BONUSES (increasing the hourly rate to $27/hr for some programs), based on experience

          • Continuously prepare and supply the driller with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.
          • Handle drill rods and casing, core tubes and core samples.
          • Maintain and organize appropriate inventory levels of necessary materials, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
          • Assist the Driller, client and other team members where required.
          • Regular and repetitive lifts of 50-90 lbs.

          Professional Experience / Qualifications

          • Preference will be given to those with a class 5 or 7 Driver’s License.
          • Have 1-3 years experience in the drilling industry.
          • Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
          • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.

            HD Mechanic – All Service Drilling – In Town

              Responsibilities:

              The Geotech Drilling Group of Companies is hiring for a Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Alberta based subsidiary, All Service Drilling. this is an exciting role based in Airdrie, AB, working Monday to Friday with the potential for overtime. This dynamic role will allow for growth and further training within the drilling industry.

              • Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems
              • Inspect and test to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high pressure water pumps
              • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
              • Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics
              • Contributing to the development of apprentices and working as part of a team to accomplish maintenance goals and targets.

              Professional Experience / Qualifications

              • 3-5 years of experience with industrial heavy equipment including hydraulic equipment, diesel engines and compressors, high-pressure water pumps, drill units, diesel trucks, crawlers, and pumps

              • Valid driver’s licence
              • Previous experience working on drilling equipment is an asset.

              Operations Clerk

                Key Responsibilities:

                • Daily walk-throughs and tracking of equipment and fleet units.
                • Overseeing ICBC insurance, commercial policies, and documents, as well as lowering and raising Goss Vehicle Weight (GVW) when required.
                • Required to pull fleet permits monthly and annually.
                • Accountable for equipment tracking and sign-outs.
                • Ensuring the proper handling of maintenance records.
                • Continuously tracking fleet and updating operations board.
                • Tracking and monitoring invoices for rental vehicles.
                • Review pre-op inspections and update work orders as required for maintenance.
                • Provide Project Managers with maintenance records when requested.
                • Tracking Kilometers for Health, Safety and Environment department.
                • Ensure all capital assets are accounted for, and location/condition is documented for reference.
                • Completion of Journey Management plans.

                Professional Experience / Qualifications:

                • 2+ years experience in a professional office environment or a combination of schooling (i.e., Associates Degree or Certificate)
                • Experience managing and coordinating fleet or industrial vehicles is strongly preferred.
                • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
                • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
                • Comfortable using various software and platforms for data entry. (SALUS and Microsoft Dynamics Nav are considered assets)
                • Excellent use of Microsoft Outlook, MS Word and Excel
