Exploration Drillers

    Geotech is currently looking for Exploration Drillers to join our long term projects in British Columbia and Nunavut. Equipment is composed of both surface and underground Zinex A5/U5 and Hydracore drills.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators as well as observe the volume, colour and consistency of the returns from the hole.
    • Employ various sampling techniques according to project and client requirements.
    • Record keeping as required/requested by the client and or Company.
    • Operate and troubleshoot drill and ancillary equipment, including, but not limited to; trucks, support vehicles, pumps, heaters, compressors, mud re-circulation systems, etc.
    • Supervise Drill Assistant and the drill crew to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
    • Ensure Driller Assistant maintains and organizes equipment, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.

    Professional Experience / Qualifications

    • Must be considered fully vaccinated against COVID (Must provide federal proof of vaccination)
    • Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 or 7 Driver’s License.
    • Have 2-5 years experience in exploration drilling.
    • Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
    • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.

    HD Mechanic – All Service Drilling

    • Airdrie, Alberta

      Responsibilities:

      The Geotech Drilling Group of Companies is hiring for a Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Alberta based subsidiary, All Service Drilling. this is an exciting role based in Airdrie, AB, working Monday to Friday with the potential for overtime. This dynamic role will allow for growth and further training within the drilling industry.

      • Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems
      • Inspect and test to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high pressure water pumps
      • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
      • Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics
      • Contributing to the development of apprentices and working as part of a team to accomplish maintenance goals and targets.
      • Service attachments and working tools
      • Verify and repair emission control systems

      Professional Experience / Qualifications

      • 3-5 years of experience with industrial heavy equipment including hydraulic equipment, diesel engines and compressors, high-pressure water pumps, drill units, diesel trucks, crawlers, and pumps
      • Ability to diligently organize work, make decisions, and set priorities
      • Valid driver’s licence
      • Previous experience working on drilling equipment is an asset.
      • Strong interpersonal skills
      • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test

      Geotechnical Drill Assistant – Delta, BC

      • $20-$23/hr to start + potential bonuses
      • Lower Mainland, BC

        Geotech us currently looking for a geotechnical Drill Assistant to work with our team throughout BC and Canada.

        Key Responsibilities

        • Continuously prepare and supply the driller with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.
        • Handle drill rods and casing, core tubes and core samples.
        • Maintain and organize appropriate inventory levels of necessary materials, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
        • Assist the Driller, client and other team members where required.
        • Regular and repetitive lifts of 50-90 lbs.

        Professional Experience / Qualifications

        • Must be considered fully vaccinated against COVID (Must provide federal proof of vaccination)
        • Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 or 7 Driver’s License.
        • Have 1-3 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling.
        • Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.

        • Have experience working in the field, in remote and/or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time.

        Administrative Assistant

          The new and exciting Administrative Assistant position is accountable for numerous and varied administrative duties as required by our project management team.

          Come join our expanding company and help support up to 50 drill rigs employed on programs in throughout Western Canada. The Administrative Assistant participates, implements, and assists with continuous improvement to the services and policies of the organization.

          Key Responsibilities:

          • Phone system management for all Geotech offices (Answering calls and directing them accordingly).
          • Workbook generation and assisting with daily shift reports.
          • Assisting with field timesheets and expenses.
          • Assisting with crew scheduling; following up with field staff to ensure they are ready for their rotation.
          • Assist with budget updates and forecasting.
          • Submittal management.
          • Work with Microsoft software to manage data and information related to project management functions.
          • Provide administrative support to multiple departments including project management and the ownership group.
          • General filing, photocopying, scanning, and ordering supplies.
          • Additional administrative tasks and special projects as required.
