    Exploration Project Manager

    Duties:

    The Exploration Project Manager (PM) is accountable for all aspects of Geotech exploration projects from their inception to execution. Duties include planning, execution, managing employees, resources, costs, scheduling, and scope of projects. The PM is also accountable for communicating with all appropriate stakeholders involved with projects (i.e. clients, management, employees, operations, shop, human resources (HR), health and safety (HSE), First Nations and regulators as appropriate, etc.).  

    The PM is responsible for the technical quality and implementation of procedures completed by their team and ensuring the appropriate training and technical support is available. 

    The PM is also responsible for ensuring that all team members comply with all the company’s HR and HSE policies, technical and administrative procedures, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements. 

    The duties of this position involve providing guidance and mentorship to team leaders, supervisors, and any other employees who may require it. The PM must ensure that all team members agreed-upon goals and objectives are achieved in accordance with their teams’ and the company’s expectations, policies, and procedures.

    The PM is also responsible for developing business relationships and increasing profitable sales revenue for the company and its subsidiaries. 

    Qualifications:

    Candidates will possess the following skills and expertise: 

    • A certificate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Project Management, Business, etc.) is considered an asset. 
    • 8+ years’ drilling/supervising on Exploration drill programs.  
    • Strong interest in project management, business development and client relations.  
    • Heli-portable and skid-mounted drill program experience includes set up and tear down. 
    • Proven ability to meet client targets safely and on time.  
    • Must have a strong awareness and concern for health and safety policy and procedures. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Good understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. 
    • Strong knowledge of project management, including deadlines and budgets. 
    • Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, problem-solve and prioritize work.
    • Ability to coach, train and manage staff. 
    • Ability to travel to support projects and business development as required.

    Reports to: Jody Lambert, Vice President

    Hours of Work:

    Although the time requirements for this position may vary throughout the year, it is anticipated that the majority of the work will be performed at one of Geotech’s offices or project sites. Typically, office hours are from Monday to Friday, consisting of 40+ hours per week. 

    When working in the field, extended hours are to be expected. Up to 20% of working hours may be spent managing active projects in the field.

    Salary: $120K – $160K + bonuses

    Heavy Duty Mechanic

      Key Responsibilities

      • Assist in disassembling and reassembling components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems.
      • Assist in inspecting and testing to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high-pressure water pumps.
      • Assist in diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
      • Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
      • Service attachments and working tools.
      • Verify and repair emission control systems.

      Professional Experience / Qualifications

      • 3 + years of experience with heavy industrial equipment, including hydraulic equipment, diesel engines and compressors, high-pressure water pumps, drill units, diesel trucks, crawlers, and pumps
      • Ability to diligently organize work, make decisions and set priorities
      • Valid driver’s licence
      • Previous experience working on drilling equipment is an asset
      • Strong interpersonal skills
      • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test

      Education

      • High School Diploma or equivalent.
      • Must hold Journeyman ticket or be registered 3rd or 4th year Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice

      Compensation

      $24.00/hr up to $36.00/hr based on experience.

      $40.00/hr – $41.00/hr if classified as a Journeyman Red Seal Mechanic.
