Accounts Payable Clerk – 18 Month Mat Leave

    Geotech is looking for a capable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team for an 18 month Maternity leave coverage! Must be a self-starter who takes initiative in their day to day schedule. This dynamic role involves working closely with the accounting team of 8 to successfully handle everything from data entry to full cycle accounts payable. You will be involved in posting, processing cheques and liaising with vendors in regards to invoicing.  It requires an individual with ambition and the confidence to manage the workload of an ever-changing project based group of companies.

    Qualifications required:

    • 2+ years of applicable AP experience
    • Accounting degree or diploma considered a strong asset
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
    • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask
    • Excellent Excel skills are preferred
    • Experience with Sage 50 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV are considered strong assets
    • Experience working in a project based working environment considered an asset
    • Willingness to support accounting team at all levels including vacation coverage

    Sonic Driller

      Geotech is seeking an experienced Sonic Driller for geotechnical, hydrogeological and environmental projects throughout the lower mainland, all of British Columbia and into the territories.  Our recently expanded sonic fleet requires competent staff to operate and maintain it.  The successful candidate will be an experienced leader in the field, posses motivation to deliver a superior service and adhere to all H&S requirements and Provincial Legislation.  Competitive wages and benefits offered.

      As a Sonic Driller at Geotech you must:

      • Have 2+ years’ experience with sonic drilling;
      • Preferred experience with various other drilling methodologies, ODEX, mud/air rotary, Coring.
      • Possess a valid Class Driver’s License; (Class 3 or 1 preferred)
      • Be physically capable of regular and repetitive lifts;
      • Have mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment;
      • Have experience working in remote and/ or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time, and;
      • Have a positive attitude, be self-motivated and the willingness to work hard.
      • Be in the process or working towards ITA Geo Driller Certification.

      Payroll Coordinator – 12 Month Mat Leave

        Geotech is looking for a motivated Payroll Coordinator to join our team for a 1 year maternity leave term starting in July 2020 (flexibility in start date). This dynamic role offers a wide arrange of responsibilities that includes non-unionized payroll processing and benefits administration. the ideal candidate must be a self-starter who takes initiative in their day to day schedule. The position involves working closely with the accounting team of 6 to successfully process biweekly payroll for 120-200 employees. You will be responsible to accurately enter approved timesheets, track and deduct all required deductions and resolve any discrepancies. This full-time position offers a flexible schedule to meet the candidates personal commitments.  

        Qualifications required:

        • 3+ years of applicable payroll experience
        • Diploma or degree in business/commerce considered an asset
        • Payroll accreditation considered an asset. 
        • Experience working under a strict level of confidentiality 
        • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
        • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask
        • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines 
        • Excellent Microsoft office and payroll software skills 
        • Experience with Payworks program considered a strong asset

        Driller

          Geotech is currently seeking experienced Drillers for projects across western Canada and into the territories.  Geotech operates 45 drills on a variety of exploration, geotechnical and environmental projects. Rotational position with all accommodations and travel paid.           As a Driller at Geotech you must:

          • Have 5+ years’ experience with Geotechnical, Environmental or Exploration drilling;
          • Have experience with ODEX, mud/air rotary or various coring methodologies;
          • Possess a valid Class 5/7 Driver’s License;
          • Be physically capable of regular and repetitive lifts;
          • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and complete online courses/paperwork;
          • Have Standard First Aid or the ability to travel to complete the course;
          • Have mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment;
          • Have experience working in remote and/ or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time, and;
          • Have a positive attitude, be self-motivated and the willingness to work hard.

          Drill Assistant

          • Western and Northern Canada

            Geotech is seeking Drill Assistants for upcoming projects across Western and Northern Canada.  We are looking for candidates based in the Western provinces or “Northern territories. This is an excellent opportunity for you to grow your skills within the geotechnical, environmental and exploration drilling industries.  Shifts are 3-4 weeks on, 1-2 weeks off. Training provided.

            Responsibilities include:

            • Handling drill rods, casing, core tubes and core samples 
            • Loading/off-loading supplies
            • Handling tooling/consumables (sand, cement, bentonite)
            • Assisting the Driller, client and other team members where required 

            As a minimum the Drill Assistant must:

            • 2+ years heavy labour experience with preference given to those with experience in exploration, geotechnical or environmental drilling;
            • Be physically capable of regular and repetitive lifts of 50-90lbs;
            • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and complete online courses;
            • Have Standard First Aid of the ability to travel to complete the course;
            • Have basic mechanical ability to help troubleshoot and repair small equipment, pumps and generators;
            • Have experience working in the field, in remote and/ or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time, and;
            • Have a positive attitude, be self-motivated and the willingness to work hard.
            • Valid Driver’s Licence is preferred.
