Sonic Driller
Geotech Drilling is seeking experienced Sonic Drillers for geotechnical, hydrogeological and environmental projects throughout the lower mainland, British Columbia/Alberta and into the territories. Our sonic fleet requires competent staff to maintain a high level of output for a diverse array of clients. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader in the field, possess the motivation to deliver superior service and adhere to all H&S requirements and Provincial Legislation. As a Sonic Driller at Geotech, you must:
- Have 2+ years experience with sonic drilling
- Preferred experience with various other drilling methodologies, ODEX, mud/air rotary, Coring
- Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Be physically capable of regular and repetitive lifts
- Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment
- Have experience working in remote and/ or varied weather conditions for extended periods
- Have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and be willing to work hard.
- Be in the process or working towards ITA Geo Driller Certification (preferred).
Sandblaster/Painter
Key Responsibilities
- Sandblasting, painting, and finishing Geotech’s equipment, including but not limited to drill rigs, trucks, trailers and Morookas.
- Prepare, clean, and refurbish surfaces through effective sandblasting techniques.
- Determine the appropriate paint or paint formula.
- Operate equipment used for industrial and automotive painting, including spray guns.
- The ability to apply stencils and decals.
- Order all required materials and supplies.
- Cleaning and maintaining all equipment.
- Identify all safety hazards and ensure proper ventilation.
- Understanding and observing all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self, co-workers and Geotech property.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in sandblasting or industrial/automotive painting.
- High attention to detail.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Canadian Driver’s License.
- Must be physically fit, able to lift 30-50 lbs. to shoulder height 2-4 times/shift, and able to work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Forklift experience is considered an asset.
Compensation
$25.00 – $28.00 an hour. Based on Experience
Hours of Work:
Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Opportunities for overtime.
Experienced Geotechnical Driller
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators as well as observe the volume, colour and consistency of the returns from the hole.
- Employ various sampling techniques according to project and client requirements.
- Record keeping as required/requested by the client and or Company.
- Operate and troubleshoot drill and ancillary equipment, including, but not limited to; trucks, support vehicles, pumps, heaters, compressors, mud re-circulation systems, etc.
- Supervise Drill Assistant and the drill crew to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
- Ensure Driller Assistant maintains and organizes equipment, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 or 7 Driver’s Licence.
- Have 2-5 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling.
- Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

Exploration Drillers
Key Responsibilities
- Extract core samples using the Zinex A5 or Hydracore 2000 Hydraulic Drill.
- Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators as well as observe the volume, colour and consistency of the returns from the hole.
- Employ various sampling techniques according to project and client requirements.
- Record keeping as required/requested by the client and or Company.
- Operate and troubleshoot drill and ancillary equipment, including, but not limited to; trucks, support vehicles, pumps, heaters, compressors, mud re-circulation systems, etc.
- Supervise Drill Assistant and the drill crew to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
- Ensure Driller Assistant maintains and organizes equipment, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- Must be considered fully vaccinated against COVID (Must provide federal proof of vaccination)
- Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 or 7 Driver’s License.
- Have 2-5 years’ experience in exploration drilling.
- Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
Compensation
BC Program: $34.00/hr
- BC Program Bonus: $7-$11 per meter based on depths. ($2.00 per meter is held as retention until the end of the program)
Nunavut: $39.50/hr ($32.00/hr + $7.50/hr Northern Bonus)
- Nunavut Program Bonus: $90 per day Northern Bonus, $6.50-$11 per meter based on depths ($2.00 per meter is held as retention until the end of the year)

Experienced Exploration Drill Assistants/ Support Staff
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously prepare and supply the driller with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.

- Maintain and organize appropriate inventory levels of necessary materials, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
- Assist the Driller, client and other team members where required.
- Regular and repetitive lifts of 50-90 lbs.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- Must have a Class 5 Driver’s Licence or higher.
- Preference will be given to those with a Class 3 or Air Brake Endorsement.
- Have 1-3 years experience in the drilling industry.
- Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
- Have experience working in the field, in remote and/or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experienced Geotechnical Driller- All Service Drilling
Company Background and Culture
All Service Drilling is a Geotechnical and Environmental Drilling company looking for motivated people to join their team! This position is best suited to people who enjoy working outdoors and can travel around Alberta to various job sites. The ideal candidate should have a clean driver’s abstract and their own transportation to our shops in Nisku or Airdrie. Wages range from $28-$36 per hour based on experience.
