Diamond Core Driller – Mineral Exploration (Surface)

    Diamond Driller – Surface Exploration

    We are hiring experienced Surface Exploration Diamond Drillers. Candidates must have proven diamond drilling experience along with the ability to work safely and effectively in rugged, remote settings. 

    Project and Equipment

    • A5 and/or Track mount drill rig.
    • BH depth range: 250m to 1000m

    Location: Council, Idaho

    Start Date: June 2026

    Duration: 4 Months

    Hours of Work: 20 days on, 10 days off, 12 hr days.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Extract core samples using Zinex A5 Diamond Core Drills.
    • Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators as well as observe the volume, colour and consistency of the returns from the hole.
    • Employ various sampling techniques according to project and client requirements.
    • Record keeping as required/requested by the client and or Company.
    • Operate and troubleshoot drill and ancillary equipment, including, but not limited to; trucks, support vehicles, pumps, heaters, compressors, mud re-circulation systems, etc.
    • Supervise Drill Assistant and the drill crew to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
    • Ensure Driller Assistant maintains and organizes equipment, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.

    Professional Experience / Qualifications

    • Must maintain and possess a valid Driver’s License.
    • Must have minimum 5 years’ experience in exploration surface drilling.
    • Helicopter experience is an asset. 
    • Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
    • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.

    Compensation:

    $35.00 – $38.00 USD per hour +bonuses

    Geotechnical Drilling Supervisor

      Geotechnical Drilling Supervisor

      Reporting to the Project Manager (PM), the Supervisor directs and manages all on-site drillers, drill assistants, support staff, subcontractors, and equipment. The Supervisor enforces Geotech policies, procedures, and safety standards while meeting project requirements and deadlines.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Supervise and manage drill crews to ensure the successful operation and completion of drilling programs.
      • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and employees on site.
      • Conduct daily safety meetings with crew and clients.
      • Communicate with the PM daily or as frequently as the project requires to be successful.
      • Utilize technical knowledge of drill rigs to assist in troubleshooting and specialized tasks.
      •  Know, understand, comply and enforce HSE requirements to all site employees and subcontractors.
      • Coordinate, review and deliver employee training as trained to do.
      • Strategically mentor and identify high potential employees.
      • Complete all incident reports and investigations with assistance from HSE staff.
      •  Prepare daily reports of all drilling activities.
      • Accommodate and facilitate change at the request of the client, company or if better/best practices are determined.
      • Complete routine drill audits planned job observations (PJO’s) and pre and post hole inspections.
      • Occasionally drill as required to assist drill teams and ensure overall project completion.

      • ITA certified, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of onboarding
      • Must be comfortable with computers and technology, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
      • Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
      • Complete and pass a pre-employment and client required pre-access drug & alcohol test.

      Education

      • High School Diploma or equivalent.

      Compensation

      $38.00 – $45.00 per hour.

      Pad Builders

      • $25 – 40/hr based on experience.
      • Western Canada

        We are seeking Pad Builder’s and Pad Builder Supervisors with strong backgrounds in operating safely around helicopter operations. 

        Duties and Responsibilities:

        • Supervise and lead crews in safe and efficient pad construction.
        • Ensure all work meets project specifications and safety standards
        • Coordinate with drillers and project managers on scheduling priorities.
        • Train and mentor junior crew members on best practices.
        • Construct and maintain drilling pads. 
        • Utilize basic carpentry skills to ensure pad stability and durability.
        • Load and unload equipment.
        • Prepare work sites and maintain cleanliness.
        • Drive, operate, refuel and wash Geotech equipment, including trucks, support vehicles, generators, pumps, and hand tools.
        • Continuously prepare and supply the driller and drill assistant with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.
        • Assist in collecting samples or other tasks relevant to the operation of a drilling program.
        • Handle drill rods and casing, core tubes and core samples.
        • Maintain a water source (if required for the project).
        • Mix drill mud.
        • Load and unload materials, supplies, and tooling before and after projects.
        • Set up materials at the job site in a safe, designated area.
        • Housekeeping and other duties as assigned by the Drill Supervisor.
        • Work with little or no supervision.
        • Adhere to safety protocols at all times.

        Qualifications:

        • 5+ years’ experience in pad construction or carpentry, or a combination of the two. 
        • Demonstrated experience operating in environments with active helicopter flight operations, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
        • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
        • Ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
        • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
        • Strong problem-solving abilities.
        • Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
        • Familiarity with various drilling techniques and equipment, including tooling and inventory, is a strong asset.
        • Valid Class 5 or 3 Licence prerequired.
        • Standard First Aid (will provide if needed)
        • Ability to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

        Salary: $25 – 40/hr, based on experience.

        Drill Assistant/ Class 1 Driver

        • $26.00 – $30.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications
        • Prince George, BC

          Key Responsibilities

          • Continuously prepare and supply the driller with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.
          • Handle drill rods and casing, core tubes and core samples.
          • Maintain and organize appropriate inventory levels of necessary materials, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
          • Assist the Driller, client and other team members where required.
          • Regular and repetitive lifts of 50-90 lbs.
          • Safely operate Class 1 truck and trailer units (lowbeds, flatbeds, or specialized trailers) to transport drill rigs, support vehicles, tooling, fuel, and materials to/from job sites.
          • Filling out appropriate paperwork including inspections and logbooks

          Professional Experience / Qualifications

          • Must maintain and possess a valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence.
          • Have 1-3 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling is an asset.
          • Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment an asset.
          • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
          • Have experience working in the field, in remote and/or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time.
          • Strong knowledge of the NSC and documentation including the use of logbooks

          Compensation

          $26.00 – $30.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
