Heavy Duty Mechanic (In Town) – Geotech Drilling
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring our equipment is well-maintained and ready to perform in challenging environments. Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems
- Inspect and test to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high pressure water pumps
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Contributing to the development of apprentices and working as part of a team to accomplish maintenance goals and targets.
- Service attachments and working tools
- Verify and repair emission control systems
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- 5 + years of experience with industrial heavy equipment including hydraulic equipment, diesel engines and compressors, high-pressure water pumps, drill units, diesel trucks, crawlers, and pumps
- Ability to diligently organize work, make decisions, and set priorities
- Valid driver’s license
- Previous experience working on drilling equipment is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills
Schedule: Monday to Friday with possibility for overtime.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic (Journeyman).
- Interprovincial trade qualifications in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics (Red Seal Certification) preferred.
Compensation
$42 to $49/hr based on experience
Geotechnical Drill Assistant
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously prepare and supply the driller with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.
- Handle drill rods and casing, core tubes and core samples.
- Maintain and organize appropriate inventory levels of necessary materials, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
- Assist the Driller, client and other team members where required.
- Regular and repetitive lifts of 50-90 lbs.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 or 3 Driver’s Licence.
- Have 1-3 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling is an asset.
- Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment an asset.
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
- Have experience working in the field, in remote and/or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Compensation

Yard Technician
Yard Technician
Geotech Drilling Services Ltd. is looking for a motivated Yard Technician to join their team in Prince George! This dynamic role will involve general yard tasks to effectively support the loading and unloading of equipment for drilling programs based across Western Canada. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our Yard team and the effective preparation of drilling related equipment and supplies.
Yard Technician Responsibilities:
- Performing routine laboring tasks on a daily basis such as yard clean up.
- Moving, carrying and hauling materials and inventory.
- Filling requisitions for project work.
- Operating hand-held equipment and forklift.
- Sorting, inspecting, and cleaning equipment for future projects.
- Understanding and observing all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self, co-workers and Geotech property.
- Ensure outgoing loads are logically organized, complete and secure for transport
- Ensure quality of outgoing loads and report all defects or errors to the Yard Foreman
- Maintain constant communication with yard technicians and operations staff
- Exert excellent prioritizing skill to meet and exceed project timelines

Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks at hand

- Drilling experience in various methodologies such as Coring, Auguring and Air Rotary considered assets

Rate:
$21.00 – $28.00 per hour based on experience.
Schedule:
Working schedule is four days a week, including weekends. Typically this will consist of 10 hours per day and 40 hours per week. The typical schedule is 6:30am – 5:00pm.

The Professional Assistant acts as a key liaison between internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders while supporting the successful execution of geotechnical projects and divisional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage calendars, schedules, meetings, for the Geotechnical Division Manager.
- Coordinate and track divisional projects, action items, and deadlines to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare, review, and maintain correspondence, reports, project documentation, and presentations.
- Assist with project setup, documentation control, and administrative support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate communication between field crews, project managers, clients, subcontractors, and internal departments.

Class 1 Heavy Fleet Tractor & Trailer Driver
We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and motivated Class 1 Heavy Fleet Tractor & Trailer Driver to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in transporting equipment safely and efficiently to support field operations.
As a key member of our fleet team, you will be responsible for the safe operation of heavy fleet tractor-trailer units, loading and transporting equipment, completing required documentation, and supporting operational teams as needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 tractor-trailer units and other company vehicles as required.
- Load, secure, transport, and offload equipment, materials, and supplies in accordance with transportation regulations and company standards.
- Conduct and document pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
- Complete all required paperwork, including daily logbooks, vehicle inspection reports, and shipping documentation.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured and transported safely to project locations.
- Operate hand tools and assist with loading/unloading equipment as required.
- Support Fleet and Operations personnel in the execution of projects and logistics activities.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and National Safety Code requirements.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any defects, malfunctions, or maintenance concerns immediately.
