Geotechnical Driller

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators as well as observe the volume, colour and consistency of the returns from the hole.
    • Employ various sampling techniques according to project and client requirements.
    • Record keeping as required/requested by the client and or Company.
    • Operate and troubleshoot drill and ancillary equipment, including, but not limited to; trucks, support vehicles, pumps, heaters, compressors, mud re-circulation systems, etc.
    • Supervise Drill Assistant and the drill crew to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
    • Ensure Driller Assistant maintains and organizes equipment, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.

    Professional Experience / Qualifications

    • Must maintain and possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
    • Have 3-5 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling.
    • Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
    • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.

    Education

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Compensation

    $30.00 – $38.00 per hour plus bonuses. 

    Diamond Driller

      Diamond Driller – Surface Exploration 

      Location: Remote Camp, Nunavut 

      Hours of Work:

      4 weeks on, 2 weeks off, 12 hr days. 

      Key Responsibilities

      • Extract core samples using the Zinex A5 Diamond Core Drills.
      • Monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators as well as observe the volume, colour and consistency of the returns from the hole.
      • Employ various sampling techniques according to project and client requirements.
      • Record keeping as required/requested by the client and or Company.

      Experienced Exploration Drill Assistant

        Exploration Drill Assistant 

        We’re seeking Drill Assistants with a minimum of 1 year of experience on exploration projects. If you thrive in dynamic environments and are eager to contribute to our team’s success, then this opportunity is for you.

        Key Responsibilities 

        • Continuously prepare and supply the driller with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.
        • Handle drill rods and casing, core tubes and core samples.
        • Maintain and organize appropriate inventory levels of necessary materials, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.
        • Assist the Driller, client and other team members where required.
        • Regular and repetitive lifts of 50-90 lbs.

        Professional Experience / Qualifications

        • Must have 1 or more years experience in the drilling industry.
        • Proven experience in helicopter supported operations is an asset. 
        • Must have a class 5 or 7(N) Driver’s License.
        • Have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment.
        • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
        • Complete and pass project specific safety courses.
        • Have experience working in the field, in remote and/or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time.

        Education

        • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

        Compensation

        $25- $28 per hour plus meter bonus.

        Geotechnical Drill Assistant

          Heavy Duty Mechanic (In Town)

            Heavy Duty Mechanic

            As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring our equipment is well-maintained and ready to perform in challenging environments.             Key Responsibilities 

            • Disassemble and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems  
            • Inspect and test to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high pressure water pumps 
            • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required 
            • Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics  
            • Contributing to the development of apprentices and working as part of a team to accomplish maintenance goals and targets. 
            • Service attachments and working tools 
            • Verify and repair emission control systems 

            Professional Experience / Qualifications 

            • 5 + years of experience with industrial heavy equipment including hydraulic equipment, diesel engines and compressors, high-pressure water pumps, drill units, diesel trucks, crawlers, and pumps 
            • Ability to diligently organize work, make decisions, and set priorities 
            • Valid driver’s license 
            • Previous experience working on drilling equipment is an asset.  
            • Strong interpersonal skills 

            Schedule: 4 X10 hour shifts – Monday – Friday with possibility for overtime. 

            Education 

            • High School Diploma or equivalent.  
            • Must be a licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic (Journeyman).
            • Interprovincial trade qualifications in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics (Red Seal Certification) preferred. 

            Compensation 

            $45 to $53/hr based on experience 

            Ice Profiling Technician – Geotech Ekutak

              Ice Profiling Technician – Geotech Ekutak

              Location: Hope Bay Project – Nunavut (Field-based)

              Schedule: 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation

              About the Role

              Join Geotech Ekutak as an Ice Profiling Technician and support our drilling operations during winter projects. This role involves measuring ice thickness at drill sites, recording data, and assisting with shop and warehouse tasks.

              Key Responsibilities

              • Attend morning meeting/toolbox talk.
              • Prepare ice profiling equipment, including tape measure, hand drill with 2-inch auger, spare batteries, and ice profiling sheets.
              • Drive to Patch Lake (approximately 9 km).
              • Arrive at designated drill location on the ice pad.
              • Drill through ice using a cordless hand drill with a 2-inch auger.
              • Measure ice thickness and freeboard using a dip tape measure.
              • Complete measurements at five locations per drill pad and record data accurately on the ice profiling sheet.
              • Deliver small parts to drill sites when convenient.

              Note: This process may take up to 5 hours (6–7 drill pads).

              Secondary Responsibilities

              ·       Assist with small projects as needed.

              ·       Support warehouse operations by counting and organizing inventory.

              ·       Help mechanics with general cleanup tasks.

              What We’re Looking For

              ·       Willingness to work extended hours during rotation.
