Class 1 Driver- Prince George, BC

Geotech is seeking a motivated Class 1 Driver/Fleet Technician. This position is suited to someone who not only enjoys driving across the beautiful landscapes of Western Canada but also enjoys balance in their work. As we are a project based business with a diverse fleet of drill rigs and equipment, every day is different. The primary function is low bedding to drill programs on and off road but you will also help out in the yard and on site where required. This is NOT your typical driving job!

Pay is based on experience. $30-33/hour + Overtime. Other perks and benefits available.

Ideally candidates will have experience or ability to:

  • Professional driving (Class 1 vehicles with Air Brakes)
  • Loading and securing equipment and supplies for transport
  • On/off road lowbed hauling across Western Canada
  • Filling out appropriate paperwork including inspections and logbooks
  • Operating hand-held tools and offloading equipment as required
  • Assisting Fleet and Operations staff as required
  • Adhering to all Geotech policies including the National Safety Code (NSC)

Ideally applicants will have:

  • At least 5 years’ of successful Class 1 driving including off road/forestry road experience
  • Heavy equipment hauling and loading experience
  • Ability to organize work, make decisions, and set priorities
  • Strong knowledge of the NSC and documentation including the use of logbooks
  • Knowledge of the drilling industry considered an asset
  • An excellent driving record with references

Experienced Drill Assistant- Canada

Geotech is seeking Experienced Drill Assistants for projects across Western and Northern Canada.  This is an excellent opportunity for you to grow your skills within the geotechnical, environmental and exploration drilling industries.  Typical schedule is 30-84 hours/week as it depends on booked projects.  Valid Driver’s Licence is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling drill rods, casing, core tubes and core samples
  • Loading/off-loading supplies
  • Handling tooling/consumables
  • Assisting an experienced driller where required

As a minimum the Drill Assistant must:

  • 2+ years experience in exploration, geotechnical or environmental drilling;
  • Be physically capable of regular and repetitive lifts;
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening:
  • Have basic mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment, pumps and generators;
  • Have experience working in the field, in remote and/ or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time, and;
  • Have a positive attitude, be self-motivated and the willingness to work hard.

Underground Drill Assistant- Canada

Geotech is seeking experienced Underground Drill Assistants for a project in Nunavut.  All travel and camp costs are covered with competitive wages and production bonus offered. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join a multi-year exploration program.  Currently we have 3 underground and 2 surface rigs operating in the area. Valid Driver’s License is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

Yard Technician- Prince George, BC

Geotech is looking for another motivated Yard Technician to join their team in Prince George! This dynamic role will involve general yard tasks to effectively support the loading and unloading of equipment for drilling programs based across Western Canada.  The successful candidate will be an integral part of our Yard team and the effective preparation of drilling related equipment and supplies.

Yard Technician Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine laboring tasks on a daily basis such as yard clean up in ALL weather conditions.
  • Moving, carrying and hauling materials and inventory.
  • Filling requisitions for project work.
  • Operating hand-held equipment and forklift.
  • Sorting, inspecting, and cleaning equipment for future projects.
  • Understanding and observing all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self, co-workers and Geotech property.
  • Ensure outgoing loads are logically organized, complete and secure for transport
  • Ensure quality of outgoing loads and report all defects or errors to the Yard Foreman
  • Maintain constant communication with yard technicians and operations staff
  • Exert excellent prioritizing skill to meet and exceed project timelines
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks at hand
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Drilling experience in various methodologies such as Coring, Auguring and Air Rotary considered assets
  • Knowledge of drilling equipment, related tooling and consumables
  • Forklift experience considered an asset
  • Class 5/7 License
