NewACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE CLERK: Prince George, BC

Geotech Drilling has an immediate fulltime opening for an Accounts Receivable Clerk.  The ideal candidate possesses a professional, respectful manner; must be an outstanding team player with a high level of initiative, dependability and reliability; and a willingness to contribute to the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Handle all receivables
  • Work with spreadsheets and accounting software– Excel and Sage 50
  • Invoicing (Entering daily day sheets into Excel)
  • Soft collections – Monthly statements
  • Track Project Manager commissions
  • Maintain internal drilling rig schedule
  • Weekly project schedule review (Conference Call)
  • Assist accounting team where required

Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience in accounts receivable
  • Experience in an industrial setting (e.g., Drilling, Construction, Mining, Forestry, etc.)
  • Formal certificate, diploma or degree in an applicable discipline
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel being critical)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (Sage 50 being preferred)
  • Strong ability to multitask and set priorities
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude

DRILL ASSISTANTS: Western Canada (Summer)

Geotech is currently seeking Drill Assistants for our Prince George and Vernon locations.

As a minimum Drill Assistants must:

  • Possess a valid Driver’s Licence (i.e., Class 5/ 7);
  • Be physically capable of regular and repetitive lifts;
  • Have basic mechanical ability to fix and repair equipment, and;
  • Have experience working in the field and all-weather conditions for extended periods of time.

NewDRILLERS: Western Canada (Summer)

Geotech is seeking Drillers for our Prince George and Vernon locations. This Driller position requires an individual with initiative, positive attitude, an ability to multitask in a  busy work environment.

Ideally candidates must have experience or ability to

  • Have a minimum of 2+ years' experience with geotechnical, environmental, or exploration drilling; 
  • Have experience with ODEX, Mud/air rotary or various coring methodologies;
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence;
  • Be physically capable of regular repetitive lifts;
  • Have mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair small equipment and;
  • Have experience working in remote and varied weather conditions

New HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC: Prince George, BC

Geotech is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic. This full-time Mechanic position requires an individual with initiative, positive attitude, and ability to multitask, and repair drill equipment in a busy work environment. 

Ideally candidates will have the ability to:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, diesel engines, and hydraulic units;
  • Inspect and test drill units, diesel compressors, high pressure water pumps, diagnose faults and malfunctions, repair and replace mechanical units;
  • Perform structural welds,
  • Periodically go to the field, review and repair equipment, as needed.

Ideally applicants will have:

  • At least three years’ of successful industrial experiences with hydraulic equipment and mechanical maintenance;
  • Ability to organize work, make decisions, and set priorities;
  • Welding experience (This is considered an asset, but not a requirement);
  • A valid Driver’s License.

New Yard Sub- Foreman: Prince George, BC

Geotech is seeking a Yard Sub-Foreman. This dynamic role will incorporate both management and general yard tasks to effectively support the loading and unloading of equipment for drilling programs based across Western Canada.  The successful candidate will take accountability for the efficient operation of the yard and its staff over the weekend as well as assume the role of Yard Technician Friday through Monday.

Yard Technician Responsibilities (Friday through Monday):

  • Performing routine laboring tasks on a daily basis such as yard clean up.
  • Moving, carrying and hauling materials and inventory.
  • Filling requisitions for project work.
  • Operating hand-held equipment and forklift.
  • Sorting, inspecting, and cleaning equipment for future projects.
  • Understanding and observing all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self, co-workers and Geotech property.

Management Responsibilities include (Saturday and Sunday):

  • Management of yard by maintaining cleanliness and order
  • Ensure day to day activities are performed efficiently & effectively
  • Review requisitions for completeness, accuracy and that inventory quantities are satisfactory
  • Ensure requisitions are appropriately staged and organized
  • Ensure incoming loads are documented, inspected for quality and proper work orders are created for equipment to be tested, repaired, tagged for use and inventoried (e.g., Review SLK kits and restock with supplies)
  • Ensure outgoing loads are logically organized, complete and secure for transport
  • Ensure quality of outgoing loads and report all defects or errors to the Yard Foreman
  • Maintain constant communication with yard technicians and operations staff
  • Exert excellent prioritizing skill to meet and exceed project timelines
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks at hand
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Supervisory experience in a similar role
  • Drilling experience in various methodologies such as Coring, Auguring and Air Rotary
  • Knowledge of drilling equipment, related tooling and consumables 
  • Forklift experience considered an asset
  • Class 5 License
